Bowling League Awards Guide: Rings vs. Trophies vs. Belts
The best bowling league awards depend on how many people you are recognizing. Championship rings work well when every member of the winning team should take something home, trophies suit a single team display at the bowling center, and a championship belt makes a fun traveling award for one top bowler or team. You can also mix all three.
Here is how rings, trophies, and belts compare, what each costs, and how to build an awards lineup for your end-of-season banquet.
Bowling League Awards at a Glance: Rings vs. Trophies vs. Belts
| Factor | Championship Ring | Trophy | Championship Belt |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Every member of the winning team | A team or league display | One top bowler or a traveling title |
| Who keeps it | Each bowler | Usually the team, captain, or center | One winner, or passed along each season |
| Wearable | Yes | No | For photos and banquet night |
| Price on our site | $8.00 for our bowling ring, less in bulk | Not sold here | $45.00–$60.00 for listed belts |
Who Provides Bowling League Awards?
In most cases, the league does. The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) handles national recognition for major scores, and since the 2014-15 season, its adult awards for a 300 game, 800 series, or 900 series have been once-in-a-lifetime awards. At the same time, USBC stopped sending year-end league and association championship awards to local associations, which now set their own award programs.
That means end-of-season awards for your league champions, runners-up, and standout bowlers are usually up to your league officers and your budget. Check with your local association to see what it offers, then fill in the rest yourself.
When Are Championship Rings the Best Choice?
Rings are the best choice when you want every bowler on the winning team to take home their own award. A four- or five-person team gets four or five rings, and no one has to decide who keeps the trophy.
Our Bowling Champion Ring was built for league banquets. The top shows a crowned bowling ball with “Champions,” one side shows an X for a strike, and the other shows a ball hitting the pins. It is made of zinc alloy with a gold-tone body, clear stones, and black accent paint.
Rings also work well for:
- League champion teams in standard, handicap, or scratch divisions.
- Season-high game or series winners within your league.
- Tournament winners at league-run or center-run events.
- Most improved bowler or other end-of-season honors.
When Is a Trophy the Better Fit?
A trophy is the better fit when the award is meant to stay in one place. Some leagues and bowling centers keep a single team trophy or a perpetual trophy in a display case, adding each year’s champion to it. That builds history at the center that individual awards cannot.
The trade-off is that one trophy can only go home with one person. If your goal is for every bowler on the winning team to have a keepsake, pair a center display trophy with individual rings.
When Should You Use a Championship Belt?
A championship belt is the most fun award at the banquet. It is made for photos, and it works especially well as a traveling title that passes from one season’s champion to the next, or as a single award for a league’s top bowler.
Our championship belts use a leather belt with 3D-printed plates. Listed belts run $45.00, and our add-your-logo 3D belt is $60.00 if you want your league or center logo on it. You can also design your own with our championship belt builder. Since the plates are 3D printed from PLA, a plastic filament, the product pages note they are not heat safe, so keep the belt out of hot cars.
How Much Do Bowling Championship Rings Cost?
The Bowling Champion Ring is listed at $8.00 each, with bulk pricing starting at 20 rings:
| Quantity | Price per Ring |
|---|---|
| 1–19 | $8.00 |
| 20–99 | $7.00 |
| 100–199 | $6.75 |
| 200–299 | $6.50 |
| 300–499 | $6.00 |
| 500–999 | $5.50 |
| 1,000+ | $5.00 |
Here is an example. A league awarding rings to a five-person champion team and a five-person second-place team needs 10 rings at $8.00, for $80. Add a $45.00 championship belt for the season’s high-average bowler, and the full lineup comes to $125.
If several leagues at the same center order together, a combined order of 20 or more rings drops the price to $7.00 each.
What Should You Know Before Ordering?
Check sizing first. The Bowling Champion Ring is listed in size 9 only, and a ring box is not included. Size 9 fits many adults, but not every bowler. If your league needs other sizes, call us before you order to talk through options.
Shipping is fast. All orders ship FedEx 2-Business-Day. Orders placed before 4 p.m. CST are estimated to arrive within 2 business days, and orders after 4 p.m. CST within 2–3 business days, not counting weekends or holidays. Still, order at least a week before your banquet so there is time to fix anything unexpected.
Frequently Asked Questions About Bowling League Awards
What are the best awards for a bowling league banquet?
It depends on who you are recognizing. Rings give every member of the winning team a keepsake, trophies work well for a display at the bowling center, and a championship belt is a fun single award or traveling title. You can also combine them.
Does USBC provide league championship awards?
Not at the national level. Since the 2014-15 season, USBC National no longer sends year-end league and association championship awards, and local associations set their own award programs. Check with your local association, then plan the rest of your league’s awards yourself.
How much do bowling championship rings cost?
Our Bowling Champion Ring is listed at $8.00 each for 1–19 rings and $7.00 each for 20–99 rings, with lower prices at higher quantities. Check the product page for current pricing before you order.
What size is the bowling championship ring?
The Bowling Champion Ring is listed in size 9 only. That fits many adults, but not everyone. Call us at (409) 939-0762 before you order if your league needs other sizes.
How fast can I get bowling league awards?
Stock rings ship FedEx 2-Business-Day, so they typically arrive within 2–3 business days of ordering. Order at least a week ahead of your banquet to leave time for anything unexpected.
Plan Your League’s Awards Night
Give rings to every champion bowler, keep a trophy at the center if your league likes that tradition, and add a belt for one standout title. Browse our bowling awards to get started.
